Hiki App Review: What It Costs and What You Get Free

Hiki is the app most people find first when they search for a neurodivergent dating app. It has been covered widely, and it comes up at the top of most searches for autistic or ADHD dating.

What is harder to find is a plain answer to two questions: what does it cost, and what can you actually do without paying. This page answers those from the two app store listings and from Hiki's own reviewers.

What this page is not: we have not run an account through Hiki's matching system, so nothing here describes what it is like to use day to day. Everything below is drawn from published listings and public reviews, checked on 20 August 2026.

What it is

Hiki describes itself on its own site as "a friendship and dating app for the Autism, ADHD, and all Neurodivergent community." Its Google Play description opens by calling it "a free and first-of-its-kind ASD, ADHD, and all other Neurodivergent friendship app and dating platform."

It has two distinct halves: a dating and friendship matching side, and a community feed where members post and comment. That distinction turns out to matter, because reviewers treat them very differently.

What it costs

The App Store listing shows Hiki Premium at $19.95 per week, at $34.00 and $44.00 per month (two tiers, both also offered with a seven-day trial), and $90.00 for three months. Separately it lists 3 Sparks for $14.99 and 1 Boost for $24.99.

Hiki's own website does not publish prices. It says "Join for free."

Both things can be true — the download is free, and so is the community feed. The gap between them is what its reviewers keep writing about.

What its own users say

These are public reviews on the Google Play listing, quoted as written.

One reviewer in February 2025, whose review 143 people marked helpful:

"Features available for free are sort of like a FB type posting app, and you can interact in post comments. However, you must pay to use basic people finding features, like browsing users near you or seeing who liked your profile."

Another in February 2025, marked helpful by 67 people, separates the two halves of the app explicitly:

"I just use it for the community feed, which is set up similar to Facebook with more category options. It's my favorite part of the app and if it was marketed for that, I'd double my stars. But they advertise it as a dating app and then price it out of reach for the vast majority of their market."

And one from May 2026:

"I've matched and met some great people! However, the paywall is ridiculous. I'm glad they have 7 day trial, but other than that, no one is paying that much money to see likes."

The pattern across all three is the same, and it is not "the app is bad." It is that the free tier gives you a social feed, while the part that finds people sits behind a subscription.

The ratings

Both checked on 20 August 2026. The gap between the two scores is normal — Android and iOS review populations usually differ — but 3.4 with 3.85K reviews is a meaningful sample, not a handful of angry posts.

Deciding whether it is worth it for you

The useful question is not whether Hiki is good in the abstract. It is which half of the app you actually want.

• If you want a neurodivergent community feed, several reviewers say that part works and is free. That is a real thing to get for nothing.
• If you want the matching side, expect to hit the subscription. Decide in advance what a month is worth to you before starting the seven-day trial, because the monthly tiers are high relative to mainstream dating apps.
• If you are in a smaller city, the paywall question is secondary to whether anyone is nearby at all. A subscription cannot create a local user base, and no review can tell you the density in your area.

One practical note: the seven-day trial is attached to a monthly subscription, so it renews unless cancelled. If you try it, set a reminder for day six.

We loaded Hiki's homepage, its App Store listing, and its Google Play listing on 20 August 2026 and recorded what each stated. The quoted reviews are public reviews on the Google Play listing, reproduced as written, with the helpful-vote counts shown at the time.
